Under heavy construction !! All pictures are currently pretty large !

Pump and Water Manifold Installation

I just love plans that work ! The ERL pump fits perfectly below the ABS lines and can be mounted to the fender of the passenger side. This place looks like it was made for the pump :)

The ERL manifold with solenoid valve and pressure/flow sensor) sits close to the pump.

In my installation, the output of the pump makes a 180 turn and directly leads into the manifold under the pressure/flow sensor.

The pump also fits the angeled surface on the right side of the fenderwall. But this way makes it easier to install the aluminum plate with the manifold. Drilling and tapping will maybe a little harder !

For a System 1S installation the pump may be mounted easier in the angeled position. Watch the mounting hole from the stock airbox. Thanks Mitsu :)

The outlet sits on the manifold side below the solenoid valve. The other input on the right side is plugged. The ERL manifold cannot be mounted as easy as the pump. But there is only a need for a small mounting plate that is twice the lenght of the manifold but the same width.

The manifold consists of 3 water inputs and one output for the jet(s). This allows the user to swap the plugs or conenctions for the best installation.

This picture shows the installation of the pump and manifold with already mounted K&N FIPK. With pump mounted on a foam stripe the gap to the filter is about 1.5 inch or more (not measured yet) but definitely enough for the manifold too.

The head of the solenoid valve can be turned in 90° steps. In my case, this allows me to install the manifold in a small gap. But with this way of mounting the pump space is not a problem at all.

Pump and manifold installed and water lines coonected.

Water Tank

The ERL systems are not comming with a Water Tank as the system is universal and also doesn't need a pressurised tank like the Spearko kit does. Fortunately, the european 3000GT do have a headlight washer with its tank installed in the front bumper and it's size (3.5 litre) is just perfect for a big power WI system.

The stock water tank just sits under the front bumper upon the aluminum crash guard. It must also be removed to get the tank out (for cleaning and tapping)

Here another view of the tank. It also contains a small reservoir and a water level switch(on the right side, close to the reservoir) that activates the amber water-level warning light on the dash wehen the tank is getting empty.

Here, the water line is already attached to the supplied fitting. I tapped into the plastic of the tank (PVC) and fixed & sealed it with a two component glue. The stock pump can just be pulled out of the gromet and mounted in an angeled position. I did not removed it as it is tied to the wiring of the level sensor.

On the left side you can see the water line attached to the filter. The other side leads then upwards to the engine bay and the pump.
